The attack on a Dallas ICE facility Wednesday night has left investigators grasping for answers after the gunman, 29-year-old Joshua Jahn, left behind a bizarre paper trail that complicates any easy explanation of his motives. Jahn opened fire from a rooftop before taking his own life when authorities closed in. What’s left is a tangle of disturbing clues that reveal a man seemingly detached from reality.
After the standoff, police found Jahn’s blue Toyota Corolla parked near the scene. On the car’s right rear panel was a taped-up homemade map, hand-drawn and crudely illustrated with phrases like “radioactive fallout” and “nuclear detonations.” The image, which authorities say appears based on the work of Richard Miller, a researcher who studied fallout from Cold War-era nuclear testing, seems disconnected from the target of Jahn’s attack. In other words, his fixation on supposed decades-old nuclear clouds hardly squares with his decision to spray bullets at an immigration enforcement facility.

Jahn’s family is just as stunned as investigators. His brother told the Daily Mail that Joshua “didn’t have strong feelings about ICE” and never voiced political hatred toward the agency. Voter records reviewed by reporters show that Jahn was a registered independent who cast ballots in the 2020 Democratic primary and the 2024 general election. In short, no history of radical anti-ICE activism was apparent.
But evidence recovered at the scene muddies things further. FBI Special Agent in Charge R. Joseph Rothrock confirmed Thursday that spent shell casings near Jahn’s body had anti-ICE messages inscribed on them, suggesting that his rampage was not entirely devoid of political undertones.
As if that weren’t enough, his family’s politics have drawn attention. The Daily Mail uncovered social media posts from Jahn’s mother, who frequently shared hard-left rhetoric and went after Texas Republicans in the wake of shootings. Her posts singled out Governor Abbott, Senator Cornyn, and Senator Cruz, accusing them of having “blood on their hands” and profiting from the gun lobby. While there’s no direct evidence she influenced her son’s attack, the political environment surrounding Jahn is clearly steeped in left-wing rage.
FBI Director Kash Patel has said his agents are now combing through Jahn’s background to determine whether this was an act of ideology, delusion, or some mix of both. Between the nuclear fallout map, the anti-ICE ammo, and the family’s progressive leanings, the Dallas attack doesn’t fit neatly into any of the narratives the mainstream media usually likes to run with.
When Demonrats keep lying and inventing things that are not true, it is obvious mental illness. Until they get a handle on it, it will continue. It looks like the Supreme Court has finally approved constitutional carry. Maybe we can weed out some of the mentally ill idiots that are prone to mass casualty events. Demonrats don’t want to acknowledge mental illness they just want to ban guns, then knives, then who knows what. Demonrats won’t change unless something changes them. They say they are the Patriots, I don’t believe that for a second. I stand behind everything Donald J. Trump has done. Smaller govt. is best for freedom. Not the bloated Demonrat govt. Get rid of every illegal alien that came over the border. Let CBP and ICE do their jobs and let’s live our lives as happy as can be.
