Well, the judicial activist chickens are finally coming home to roost. District Judge James Boasberg, one of the favorite darlings of the anti-Trump legal resistance, just found himself on the receiving end of some long-overdue scrutiny. The U.S. Justice Department, under the leadership of Attorney General Pam Bondi, has officially filed a misconduct complaint against Boasberg for his blatantly partisan behavior and unprofessional commentary about President Trump.
Now, this isn’t some fringe accusation. We’re talking about a sitting federal judge who thought it was perfectly acceptable to accuse President Trump of stoking a “constitutional crisis” simply because Trump had the audacity to push back against activist judges and their abuse of nationwide injunctions. Imagine that—an elected president calling out the judiciary, and suddenly the robe-wearing elites get the vapors.
BREAKING: DOJ has filed a misconduct complaint against activist Judge James Boasberg for making improper public comments about President Trump
"These comments have undermined the integrity of the judiciary, and we will not stand for that." – AG Pam Bondi pic.twitter.com/jw3VeqKtQq

Bondi isn’t having it. In her words, Boasberg’s comments “undermined the integrity of the judiciary,” and frankly, she’s right. A judge who trashes a sitting president behind closed doors and then proceeds to rule against his administration in high-stakes immigration cases doesn’t exactly inspire confidence in his impartiality. And let’s not forget—this is the same judge who halted mass deportation flights backed by legal authority going all the way back to the Alien Enemies Act of 1798. Boasberg twisted the law to claim the southern border crisis wasn’t a “declared” conflict. Yeah, tell that to the millions pouring in under Biden’s nonexistent border enforcement.
Chief Justice John Roberts, often more of a fence-sitter than a defender of judicial restraint, even seemed to quietly distance himself from Boasberg’s antics. A memo from the March Judicial Conference showed Roberts acknowledged concerns about Boasberg’s remarks and made it clear that the President had, at least in public, treated the judge respectfully—thanking him during the State of the Union. That kind of civility didn’t stop Boasberg from going full MSNBC in private.
President Trump, never one to mince words, called Boasberg a “Radical Left Lunatic Judge” and a “troublemaker,” which, given the facts, seems generous. The guy’s clearly got a case of Trump Derangement Syndrome, ruling from the bench with an agenda instead of the Constitution.
This isn’t about settling scores. It’s about protecting the rule of law from partisan hacks in black robes. The DOJ’s move sends a clear message—judges don’t get a free pass to play politics just because they sit on the bench. Maybe, just maybe, it’s time the judiciary starts getting held to the same standard they impose on everyone else.
