Elon Musk’s Political Giving Confirms He’s Still All-In on MAGA

Elon Musk might have stepped out of the White House, but he’s clearly not stepping away from Republican politics—or political influence, period. New campaign finance filings reveal that the billionaire tech mogul dropped a whopping $15 million in late June to support GOP super PACs, making him the single largest individual donor to the groups backing House and Senate Republicans in the first half of 2025.

On June 27, Musk wrote two $5 million checks—one to the Senate Leadership Fund and one to the Congressional Leadership Fund. Oh, and if that date rings a bell, it should. That’s just days before Musk announced he was leaving the Republican Party altogether and launching his own third-party venture: the American Party. So, Musk went from cashing checks as a White House adviser under President Trump to cutting his own for the GOP, and then promptly turning around and announcing a new political party. If anyone’s playing 4D chess in this political circus, it’s him.

Now, before the left breaks into their usual “billionaire dark money” tantrum, let’s get something straight. Musk isn’t buying influence—he already had it. He served as a senior adviser to President Trump and ran the Department of Government Efficiency before stepping down earlier this year. His departure was reportedly linked to disagreements over federal spending, a spat that spilled into the public as a “messy breakup” between Trump and Musk.

But despite the feud, Musk still threw millions into Republican causes—and not just the PACs aligned with congressional leadership. According to CNN, he also gave $5 million to MAGA Inc., Trump’s primary super PAC. That makes three different GOP-aligned entities that cashed in on Musk’s money after the alleged falling out.

Oh, and it doesn’t stop there. Musk has pumped more than $45 million into his own super PAC, America PAC, this year alone. Nearly $18 million came in cash, while the remaining $27.4 million came through in-kind contributions, including prize giveaways to voters who signed his party petitions. Yes, Musk is literally gamifying civic engagement now.

Let’s not forget: in 2024, Musk spent nearly $300 million backing Trump and conservative candidates. Whether or not he sticks with the GOP going forward, one thing is obvious—Elon Musk isn’t done shaping the future of American politics. Not by a long shot.
