Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night soapbox just got pulled out from under him, and it could not be more fitting. After spewing a disgusting lie that Charlie Kirk was killed by a “MAGA conservative,” ABC affiliates have had enough. Nexstar Media Group, which owns 32 ABC stations, announced this week that it is indefinitely yanking Jimmy Kimmel Live! from the airwaves, replacing it with programming that actually respects viewers, including a special tribute to Kirk himself.
The decision came swiftly after Kimmel’s Monday night monologue, where he tried to spin Kirk’s assassination into political ammunition against conservatives. It was a flat-out lie, and one that sparked immediate backlash. FCC Chairman Brendan Carr even threatened action against ABC and Disney for allowing such blatant misinformation to be broadcast nationally.
Nexstar didn’t mince words. “Mr. Kimmel’s comments about the death of Mr. Kirk are offensive and insensitive at a critical time in our national political discourse,” said Andrew Alford, president of Nexstar’s broadcasting division. He added that continuing to give Kimmel a platform was not in the public interest and confirmed the show would be preempted “for the foreseeable future.”

Reports suggest Kimmel is “absolutely f***ing livid” over the move, raging behind the scenes as he scrambles with network executives to salvage his crumbling career. In typical Hollywood fashion, he is now trying to spin his suspension as “government overreach” and an attack on “free speech” — ironic for a man who spent years cheering the censorship of conservatives online.
And if Nexstar’s action wasn’t enough, Sinclair Broadcasting Group has piled on. Sinclair, the nation’s largest owner of local television stations, announced it will not only preempt Kimmel’s show but will replace his time slot with a special remembrance of Charlie Kirk this Friday. That tribute will air across all Sinclair stations and has been offered to ABC affiliates nationwide.
Sinclair Vice Chairman Jason Smith put it plainly: “Mr. Kimmel’s remarks were inappropriate and deeply insensitive at a critical moment for our country.” Sinclair has demanded Kimmel issue a direct apology to the Kirk family and make a personal donation to Turning Point USA, the organization Kirk founded.

For once, Hollywood’s smug elites are facing consequences for their reckless rhetoric. Kimmel mocked a man who was gunned down in cold blood, and now his “comedy” empire is collapsing under the weight of his own arrogance. The late-night propaganda machine has lost a major cog, and in its place, America will honor Charlie Kirk’s legacy.
