Well, file this one under “Things I did not expect to see…well…ever.” Mark Cuban, billionaire entrepreneur, Shark Tank regular, and no friend of President Trump, sat in front of Congress and praised TrumpRx. Not just a little. Not some mild, corporate-speak, half-hearted nod. No, he went full infomercial with it.
“I mean, it’s incredible. It’s stupendous. It’s like the most incredible program ever.”
Now, maybe he laid it on a little thick. Maybe he was buttering up Congress to boost his own company, Cost Plus Drugs. But let’s just live in this moment for a second, because Cuban, who’s spent the last decade bashing Trump every time a mic is in front of him, is now excited to integrate his business with a Trump-led initiative aimed at slashing drug prices. Wild.
During the hearing, Cuban offered to provide TrumpRx with Cost Plus Drugs’ API so that the TrumpRx platform can display real-time prices as they drop. Transparency and savings, two things this broken healthcare system desperately needs. Cuban even praised the TrumpRx push for MFNs (Most Favored Nation pricing), saying it allows manufacturers to bypass Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) and deal directly with consumers.
And he’s not wrong. PBMs have been the middlemen raking in billions while driving up the cost of drugs. Cuban didn’t mince words about it either. He explained how drugs like Ozempic cost $1,300 through the PBM circus, but only $499 or less through direct-to-consumer options. That’s an $800 mystery fee going straight into some insurance executive’s pocket. No wonder Cuban says what Cost Plus is really selling is “trust.”

So, while Cuban made it clear he doesn’t think TrumpRx solves the entire problem, he acknowledged it’s a major step in the right direction. In fact, it’s a step his own company is already taking. That’s not just bipartisan agreement, that’s common sense finally showing up to the healthcare debate.
No, Cuban and Trump aren’t about to hug it out on stage. But here’s the takeaway: even a liberal billionaire who’s been allergic to all things Trump can’t ignore when something actually works for the American people. If that doesn’t speak volumes about the success of TrumpRx, I don’t know what does.
