SHOCKING: Somali “Child Care Centers” Found EMPTY Despite Receiving Millions in Taxpayer Funds

Independent journalist and YouTuber Nick Shirley decided to do something Minnesota politicians have clearly had no interest in doing, actually showing up and asking basic questions. What he uncovered during a day of on-the-ground reporting in Minneapolis should make every taxpayer furious.

Shirley visited multiple Somali-owned child care centers across Minneapolis, facilities that collectively receive more than $110 million in taxpayer funding through government programs. These centers are supposedly caring for children every day, yet during Shirley’s visits, something critical was missing. There were no kids. Not a single one.

Instead, Shirley encountered locked doors, hostility, and behavior that raised immediate red flags. At one center, allegedly pulling in around $2 million per year and licensed for roughly 100 children, the sign outside could not even spell the word “learning” correctly. That alone might sound minor until you realize this place is trusted with millions in public funds and the care of children who were nowhere to be found.

As Shirley and his partner approached, a woman began screaming for whoever was inside not to open the door, apparently convinced they were ICE. That reaction says a lot. Legitimate businesses generally do not panic at the sight of a camera and a couple of questions.

One of the most notorious examples is the Quality Learning, or “Learing,” Center, which has a long history of violations. According to Fox News and local reporting, this daycare racked up 95 violations between 2019 and 2023. These ranged from failing to keep hazardous items away from children to having no records for more than a dozen listed kids. Somehow, despite all of this, its license is valid through 2026.

At another center, reportedly receiving $2.66 million this year alone, a Somali woman aggressively refused entry and slammed the door when asked a simple question, where are the kids? Again, not exactly the behavior of someone running a transparent, lawful operation.

Shirley’s full 42-minute investigative video lays all of this out in detail and has ignited widespread outrage online. Even Representative Tom Emmer publicly called out Tim Walz over the mess. That pressure is growing by the day.

Minnesotans work hard, pay massive taxes, and expect basic accountability. What Shirley documented looks less like child care and more like a taxpayer-funded shell game. If these operations cannot prove they are legitimate, safe, and actually serving children, funding should be cut immediately and fraud charges pursued aggressively.

This scandal did not appear overnight. It was allowed to fester by political leaders who looked the other way. Now that sunlight has hit it, the excuses are running out. The corruption runs deep, and the people paying the price are the taxpayers who never consented to bankroll it.
