The left’s latest attempt at an “organic grassroots uprising” against Elon Musk and Tesla went about as well as a CNN town hall — underwhelming, cringeworthy, and, frankly, embarrassing.
Billed as the “biggest yet” in a string of left-wing protests targeting Tesla, this weekend’s so-called “Tesla Takedown” flopped harder than a Greta Thunberg TikTok. Despite big talk from Democrat lawmakers, Hollywood actors, and far-left activist groups, the nationwide protest turnout was laughably small — especially considering the media buildup and the number of locations targeted.
In San Antonio, Texas — a city of over 1.5 million — less than a dozen protesters managed to drag themselves out to each of the two planned demonstrations. Signs featuring Swastikas and anti-Trump screeds were waved around like props in a low-budget college theater production. Yet the local left-wing subreddit declared it “great” and “overwhelming.” Delusion, thy name is progressive activism.
They literally are paid “protesters”!

Santa Fe, New Mexico, had a whopping two dozen protesters standing outside a Tesla dealership yelling at passing cars. One protester shouted, “Give us a honk!” to a driver, who, in the most honest response of the day, simply rolled down the window and yelled, “Losers!”
It didn’t stop there. Videos posted on X showed protesters holding literal note cards and “cheat sheets” with pre-written chants. Among the gems: “Elon Musk, go to Mars. We don’t want your Swastikars.” Another one chanted, “Elon Musk is unelected, democracy must be protected.” The cringe was off the charts.

We don’t want your Swastikars”How pathetic that these paid protestors can’t even remember what they’re supposed to say without a cheat sheet. pic.twitter.com/boUOPm973h

In a now-viral post, @RealLifeFootage noted the ragtag crew’s soggy signs, sad turnout, and overall irrelevance: “Their faded hoodies and soggy cardboard posters were no match for the gleaming Model Ys catching every passerby’s eye… Dealership staff barely noticed, and customers stepped around them like they were just another puddle to avoid.”
Despite claims from organizers that 275 U.S. locations and 500 international sites would be “mobilized,” the only thing truly coordinated was the script the protesters were clutching like it was a high school group project due in five minutes.
Meanwhile, Attorney General Pam Bondi has launched a federal task force in response to actual crimes — including organized attacks and even explosive devices used against Tesla dealerships. Several individuals have already been charged with felonies that carry 20-year minimums.

So much for “grassroots.” The real story? The left tried to cancel Elon Musk — and America shrugged. Again.
