Trump Scores HUGE Win as Federal Court Smacks Down Rogue Judge’s Ruling

Another day, another court victory for President Trump’s America First agenda — and this one is a direct smackdown of judicial overreach.

Back in April, activist Judge James Boasberg tried to hold the Trump administration in contempt for deporting illegal alien criminals despite his emergency order. The administration, under Attorney General Pam Bondi, used the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to fast-track the removal of more than 250 Venezuelan nationals tied to violent gangs and terrorism, sending them to El Salvador’s notorious CECOT maximum-security prison. Boasberg claimed this violated his injunction.

Fast forward a few months, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit has now stepped in and reversed him in a 2-1 ruling. Judges Gregory Katsas and Neomi Rao – both Trump appointees – made it clear that Boasberg’s move to sanction the administration was a “clear abuse of discretion.” Translation: the judge overstepped, the administration acted within the law, and the deportations march on.

Pam Bondi wasted no time taking a well-earned victory lap, posting that the decision “affirmed what we’ve argued for months” and promising to keep fighting for Trump’s policies to keep America safe. This wasn’t just a procedural win – it was a legal vindication that the administration’s use of the Alien Enemies Act was “clearly not criminal.”

Fox News reports that while the majority opinion acknowledged the district court’s tough position in handling an emergency, it emphasized that ambiguity in Boasberg’s order made criminal contempt proceedings inappropriate. The appellate court deliberately sidestepped ruling on the broader policy of mass deportations under the 1798 law, but the bottom line was crystal clear: the administration broke no law in carrying out the removals.

The dissent came from Judge Nina Pillard, an Obama appointee, who sided with the plaintiffs. The decision will likely be appealed to the full D.C. Circuit, which leans Democrat, or possibly taken directly to the Supreme Court — where, given its current composition, the administration’s chances remain strong.

For Trump supporters, this is more than a technical win. It’s proof that the administration can beat back the Left’s attempts to tie its hands on border enforcement and national security. For Boasberg, it’s a very public embarrassment. Or as Charlie Kirk summed it up perfectly: “Boasberg embarrassed. Deportations march on.”

Another big win, another activist judge put in check, and another reminder that under Trump, the law still means something.
