In a post on Truth Social, Trump made it clear: the Radical Left played right into his hands. “I can’t believe the Radical Left Democrats gave me this unprecedented opportunity,” he wrote. “They are not stupid people, so maybe this is their way of wanting to, quietly and quickly, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” Translation: thanks, Democrats, for handing me the excuse I needed to start gutting the Deep State.

President Trump met with Russ Vought, director of the Office of Management and Budget, to start combing through the federal agencies and decide which ones are ripe for trimming or axing entirely. Trump says he’s looking to identify every “political scam” buried in the budget, and let’s be real there are plenty. Federal departments are loaded with career bureaucrats whose job descriptions are basically “get paid to do nothing and hate conservatives.”
The shutdown started after Democrats flat-out refused to negotiate, blowing off a reasonable seven-week continuing resolution offered by Republicans. So what was so unacceptable about the deal? Apparently, it didn’t include free Obamacare benefits for illegal immigrants. That’s the hill the Democrats chose to die on — healthcare for people who shouldn’t even be here, at the expense of programs that actually help American citizens.
President Trump warned before the shutdown that if Democrats wanted to play chicken, he was ready to make “irreversible” cuts. And unlike the Biden years, when empty threats were the norm, Trump means it. Layoffs, workforce reductions, permanent closures — it’s all on the table.
Vice President J.D. Vance also pulled back the curtain on what’s really happening: Chuck Schumer is so scared of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez running against him that he’s letting the far-left fringe hijack his party. That’s who’s calling the shots. Not moderates, not centrists — radicals who think illegal aliens deserve free health care while working-class Americans get shafted.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt nailed it: the Democrats would rather shut down the government than stop pandering to illegals. Meanwhile, health programs for American moms and kids are hanging in the balance. It’s disgusting, but not surprising.
