Karoline Leavitt made history as the youngest White House Press Secretary, achieving the milestone just months after giving birth. Yet, until recently, little was known about her personal life—particularly her marriage to 59-year-old real estate mogul Nicholas Riccio.
During a candid interview on The Megyn Kelly Show, the 27-year-old political rising star addressed their 32-year age gap and shared the unique story of how their relationship unfolded.
“It’s a very atypical love story, but he’s incredible,” Leavitt said. “He is my greatest supporter, my best friend, my rock.”

Leavitt revealed that she and Riccio first met in 2022 while she was campaigning for a congressional seat in New Hampshire.
“A mutual friend hosted an event at a restaurant he owns in New Hampshire and invited my husband,” she explained. “I was speaking at the event. We met, became friends, and eventually fell in love.”
Though she lost that congressional race, her personal life took a surprising turn. The couple got engaged in 2023, welcomed their son Nicholas Robert “Niko” Riccio in July 2024, and tied the knot just two weeks before President Donald Trump’s second inauguration.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Leavitt described their wedding as “one of my favorite days.”

Leavitt praised her husband’s success in the real estate industry, noting that his financial stability gave her the freedom to pursue her political ambitions.
“He built a very successful business, and now he fully supports me in building my career,” she said.

“I walked into your life, and it’s been a circus ever since,” she joked. “But God bless him, he’s fully on board.”
