Why Democrats Were Not Briefed on Maduro Operation

One of the biggest reasons the operation to capture Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro went off without a hitch is also the most uncomfortable truth for Washington insiders. There were no leaks. And there were no leaks because Democrats were not briefed.

That fact alone tells you more about the modern Democratic Party than a thousand cable news panels ever could.

Republican Congressman Tim Burchett said the quiet part out loud in a video released this morning. Burchett explained that if Democrats had been looped in ahead of time, the details of the operation would have been all over the media within hours. He is absolutely right. This is not speculation. It is pattern recognition.

Democrats have proven, over and over again, that they value damaging President Trump more than protecting American lives. If leaking classified details to friendly reporters could derail a Trump success, they would do it without hesitation, even if it meant putting U.S. service members in danger. That is not hyperbole. That is how Washington works now.

Burchett followed up with an official statement that left no room for confusion. He called Maduro “a thug and a narcoterrorist, responsible for the murder of countless Americans,” and praised President Trump, Secretary Rubio, Secretary Hegseth, and the brave service members who carried out the operation. The statement struck a tone Democrats seem incapable of, clarity, moral judgment, and gratitude toward the people who actually do the hard work.

Meanwhile, Democrats responded exactly as expected. Pramila Jayapal took to complaining about the operation, wringing her hands over process and optics while a narco dictator was being hauled into U.S. custody. Watching Democrats scold America for enforcing its own laws has become a tired routine, but it never stops being revealing.

On X, the reaction was swift. Users pointed out that the same party now pretending to care about legality once put a 25 million dollar bounty on Maduro’s head and then somehow failed to act on it. President Trump did not issue a press release or schedule a summit. He acted. Maduro is now facing American justice, not giving speeches from a palace guarded by cartel money.

This entire episode should be studied closely by future administrations. If President Trump wants an operation to succeed, especially one involving national security, secrecy is non negotiable. That means Democrats cannot be included ahead of time. Not because it is ideal, but because it is reality.

It is sad that this is where we are. In a sane political environment, both parties would unite against narco terrorists and foreign tyrants. But that world no longer exists. Democrats have made it clear they cannot be trusted with sensitive information when President Trump is involved.

The lesson was learned the hard way over years of leaks, sabotage, and anonymous sourcing. This time, the lesson was applied. No leaks. No chaos. No American casualties. Maduro in custody.

That outcome speaks for itself.

  • Dems would have immediately gone to the MSM. Then they would have chartered planes to head to Venezuela to interfere. They would claim they were fighting to “save democracy.”

  • What a sad state of affairs we are living in. When elected members of he US Congress cannot be trusted. To even go as far as to endager American lives by trying to cause harm to our President is almost unbelievable. But, that’s the way it is and we have to live with it. Thank you Mr President for finally providing us with strong leadership.
