Well, when even George Soros’ foot soldiers are turning on Chuck Schumer, you know the Democrat Party is officially eating its own tail. In a classic display of leftist cannibalism, the Soros-backed activist group Indivisible has publicly called for Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer to step down. That’s right — Schumer, the guy who’s spent decades carrying water for the radical wing of his party, is now being tossed aside like expired tofu because he dared allow a Republican funding bill to pass.
You just love to see it.
The ringleader of the latest Democrat drama is Ezra Levin, co-executive director of Indivisible — a group that’s pocketed over $7.6 million from Soros’ Open Society Foundation since 2017. So let’s not pretend this is some grassroots uprising of concerned PTA moms. This is big-money progressive muscle throwing its weight around because Chuck didn’t bend the knee hard enough.
Levin went full doomsday in his March 15 meltdown, accusing Schumer of “waving the white flag of surrender” and enabling a “constitutional crisis” led by Donald Trump and Elon Musk. Yes, apparently now Elon is part of some mythical authoritarian duo with Trump, and if you’re not hyperventilating about that, you’re part of the problem.
Indivisible claims a whopping 91% of its leaders nationwide want Schumer gone, and 82% of its New York leaders — you know, the ones in Schumer’s own backyard — feel the same. Ouch. That’s not a polite nudge. That’s a progressive mob sharpening the pitchforks.
The irony here is rich. Schumer helped pave the way for the left’s takeover of the Democratic Party, only to be cast aside for not moving fast enough toward their Marxist utopia. They want “fighters,” not dealmakers. And to the radical left, compromising on a government funding bill — even one that keeps the lights on — is treason.
The Trump administration hit back with a pointed question: “Who actually leads the Democrat Party — Schumer or Soros?” Good question. Because when unelected billionaire mega-donors are deciding who stays and who goes, democracy sure doesn’t look very democratic.
NRCC spokeswoman Emily Tuttle nailed it: “Democrats are eating their own.” And they are. Publicly. Loudly. On Soros’ dime.
The truth is, Soros and his cronies don’t want leaders — they want puppets. And Schumer, for all his faults, might not be spineless enough for the new progressive purity test. And that tells you everything about where the modern Democratic Party is headed — straight off a cliff.
