BREAKING: Trump Fires Top Level Govt Employee for Defying His Orders

President Trump has once again shown that loyalty and results matter in his administration. Yesterday, IRS Commissioner Billy Long was abruptly removed from his position after just two months on the job and reassigned to serve as U.S. Ambassador to Iceland. While that move alone looked like a demotion, new reports suggest there was a much bigger reason behind it.

According to multiple sources, Long clashed with the White House over the use of taxpayer data to help locate and investigate suspected illegal aliens. The Treasury Department had reached an agreement in April with the Department of Homeland Security to share specific tax information for immigration enforcement purposes. This deal, reportedly opposed by IRS privacy lawyers, was seen as a critical tool for identifying individuals in the country illegally who may be abusing taxpayer-funded benefits.

Last week, DHS provided the IRS with a list of 40,000 names of suspected illegal aliens and asked the agency to verify their addresses using confidential tax records. The IRS was able to confirm fewer than 3 percent of the names provided, most of them tied to individuals with an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number, a tax-processing ID often used by noncitizens.

The dispute escalated when the White House requested further details on those identified, including whether any had claimed the earned income tax credit. This benefit, meant for low-income working Americans, can significantly reduce tax bills or even result in refunds. Long reportedly refused to release the information, citing taxpayer privacy protections.

Within hours, President Trump replaced Long with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, a trusted ally and financial strategist who has been firmly aligned with the administration’s immigration and enforcement priorities.

The Washington Post reported that Long had previously told IRS executives the agency would not go beyond the limits of its agreement with DHS, a stance that put him at odds with the broader mission. The administration has signaled plans to eventually request IRS assistance in tracking as many as 7 million individuals believed to be in the country illegally.

White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson dismissed any suggestion of division within the administration. She stated that “everyone is aligned on the mission” and emphasized that the goal is to eliminate information silos and stop illegal aliens from accessing benefits intended for American taxpayers.

If the reports are accurate, President Trump’s decision sends a clear message: officials who are unwilling to execute the administration’s directives will be replaced without hesitation. This move puts the IRS back in sync with Trump’s broader effort to crack down on illegal immigration.
