Rep. Ilhan Omar faces a federal financial-disclosure inquiry led by U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro after a search of her Washington home.

Ilhan Omar Hit With Stunning New Development One Day After Federal Raid

Rep. Ilhan Omar is facing fresh federal scrutiny after U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro confirmed that her office is investigating the congresswoman’s financial disclosures. The announcement came one day after federal agents searched Omar’s Washington home in connection with an immigration-related criminal investigation.

That leaves Omar dealing with two separate investigations, at least for now. The search warrant and the financial-disclosure inquiry are not known to be connected, which is a small but important detail in a story already packed with enough Washington paperwork to bury a filing cabinet.

PROBE LAUNCHED: U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro says her office is investigating Rep. Ilhan Omar’s financial disclosures after the congresswoman’s reported assets tied to her husband’s businesses surged from as little as $15,000 to as much as $30 million in a single year.

Axios reported that Pirro was asked on Fox News about a congressional ethics review involving Omar’s filings. Pirro confirmed that the matter “is subject of an investigation as well” and said her office is handling it.

“It doesn’t matter what the House does,” Pirro said. “It doesn’t matter, you know, what this agency or that does.”

“We’re looking at the facts,” she continued. “Based upon the facts, we’ll follow them wherever they take us.”

That answer matters because Omar’s office pointed to an earlier congressional review as evidence that the allegations had already been examined. The Office of Congressional Conduct voted 5-1 last month to recommend dismissing allegations that Omar filed false or incomplete information. Omar’s office described that vote as proof that she had done nothing wrong.

The financial questions center on businesses connected to Omar’s husband, Tim Mynett. Members of Congress report asset values in broad ranges rather than exact amounts, so the filings cannot establish Omar’s wealth down to the dollar. Still, the dramatic year-over-year change drew immediate attention.

Omar’s original 2024 disclosure listed eStCru LLC, described as a California winery, at between $1 million and $5 million. It listed Rose Lake Capital LLC, a Washington venture-capital firm, at between $5 million and $25 million. A House disclosure filed in May 2025 placed the combined reported value of those businesses between $6 million and $30 million.

The same filing attributed both holdings to Omar’s spouse. It reported partnership income of between $5,001 and $15,000 from the winery and no income from Rose Lake Capital. The document also listed a congressional credit-union savings account, retirement funds, student-loan debt and a credit-card liability, showing why a disclosure range should not be mistaken for cash sitting in a bank account.

Omar later amended the filing, saying an accounting error counted business assets without subtracting liabilities. Her office said the corrected form placed the couple’s combined assets between $18,004 and $95,000.

The congressional watchdog’s recommendation was favorable to Omar, but Pirro’s office is continuing its own inquiry. A probe is not a finding of wrongdoing, yet the federal review means the accounting questions have not vanished simply because a House panel reached a recommendation.
