Senator and Media Executive Spotted Together, Stirring Controversy

Dem Senator Caught Cozying Up to Far-Left Media Boss—And It’s as Bad as It Looks

Another day, another example of Democrats and the media being way too cozy. This time, Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) was spotted getting extra friendly with Tara McGowan, the publisher of the far-left propaganda outlet Courier Newsroom. According to a New York Post source, the two were seen at a Washington, D.C. bar, with Murphy—who is still legally married—putting his arm around McGowan while they browsed an Italian menu.

Who Is Tara McGowan?

If her name sounds familiar, it should. McGowan runs Courier Newsroom, a so-called “news” outlet that masquerades as an independent media organization while shamelessly promoting Democratic politicians.

Courier Newsroom has been accused of posing as a legitimate news source while functioning as a Democratic super PAC in disguise.

The FEC conveniently let them off the hook, despite lawsuits challenging their blatantly partisan operations.

If you’ve ever wondered why the media acts as a Democratic PR firm—this is why.

Murphy & McGowan: Not “Waiting Around”

Murphy and his wife announced their separation in November, but their divorce isn’t finalized. Meanwhile, McGowan—who was married to Democratic strategist Michael Halle—finalized her divorce just last year.

Apparently, neither felt the need to wait. McGowan even posted an Instagram photo with the caption “not postponing joy” before deactivating her account.

The Blatant Conflict of Interest

Sure, politicians and media figures have always been a little too close—but this? This is outright embarrassing.

Murphy is one of the Senate’s loudest anti-Trump voices, constantly pushing the Democratic Party further left on gun control, border security, and beyond.

And Courier Newsroom just so happens to be one of his biggest cheerleaders—churning out glowing coverage of his leadership while attacking Republicans at every turn.

See the problem?

When a sitting U.S. senator is romantically involved with the head of a media empire that actively promotes his political career, how can anyone pretend journalistic integrity still exists in the mainstream press?

Murphy’s Hypocrisy on Full Display

Murphy, of course, has been using his platform to smear Trump and the GOP, recently claiming:

The Democratic Party’s brand is “fundamentally broken.”
Trump is turning America into a “Russian-style kleptocracy.”

And right on cue, Courier Newsroom has been amplifying his messaging—but sure, no conflict of interest there, right?

At this point, the liberal media isn’t even pretending to be impartial. They’re in bed with the Democratic Party—sometimes quite literally.
