Well, Chelsea Clinton just tried to take a swing at President Trump over his White House ballroom renovation, and let’s just say it didn’t go quite how she probably imagined it in her head. Instead of stirring up thoughtful debate or rallying the public behind her polished talking points, she lit the Internet on fire, and not in the way influencers dream of.
Chelsea didn’t just drop a tweet and call it a day. No, no. She pulled out the full progressive playbook and penned a whole op-ed in USA Today, laying into Trump for having the audacity to, get this, renovate the White House with private funds. The horror. In her piece, she scolded him for showing “disregard for history,” accused him of taking a “wrecking ball to our heritage,” and whined that he was bypassing historians and preservationists in the process. Sounds less like concern for American heritage and more like a case of political indigestion.
The White House became my home when I was twelve years old. I always understood that it wasn’t my ‘house’; it was The People’s House. https://t.co/4nwSllGaRj

She’s up in arms over the fact that President Trump is building a privately funded $250 million ballroom and that the East Wing is being partially demolished for it. And of course, this comes just as the country approaches its 250th anniversary, because nothing says “bad optics” like sprucing up the People’s House for a historic milestone, right?
But here’s the best part. Turns out, the Clintons also wanted to build a ballroom during their time in the White House. Yep. There’s actual footage and reporting that shows they pushed for it but just didn’t get it done. So what Chelsea is now slamming Trump for, her parents literally tried and failed to do. That’s what we call next-level projection.
Your parents wanted this done. ⬇️ https://t.co/fxsDXWOnvs

Naturally, the Internet wasted no time in pointing this out. Former Clinton staffer Buzz Patterson chimed in, and it was brutal. Other users dug up Clinton-era hypocrisy and laughed their way through her op-ed. People reminded Chelsea that her family’s White House legacy includes less “respect for history” and more “stains on history” if you catch the drift.
Chelsea’s claim that President Trump is scrubbing history even took a hilarious nosedive when she tried to cite an instance where the word “gay” was auto-removed from government sites, leading to the Enola Gay bomber being delisted. She admitted it was a tech error but somehow still tried to pin the blame on Trump. That’s like spilling your own drink, then suing the waiter.
At the end of the day, this has nothing to do with history or stewardship or architecture. It’s about Trump living rent free in every liberal’s head, especially the ones with last names like Clinton. The ballroom isn’t a scandal. It’s just another reminder that Trump gets things done, even the things the Clintons couldn’t.
