New Jersey Democrat Rep. LaMonica McIver went on MSNBC this week to play the victim card after being hit with federal charges related to her little anti-ICE stunt, and, predictably, she seemed shocked that she might actually be held accountable. Imagine that, a Democrat facing consequences. It’s like spotting Bigfoot in Times Square.
McIver, speaking with Biden’s former mouthpiece Jen Psaki, whined about how “scary” it is to face 17 years in prison for allegedly assaulting federal officers during a so-called “congressional oversight visit” to an ICE detention facility. Now, I don’t know about you, but last time I checked, congressional oversight doesn’t involve physically “tussling” with law enforcement. But hey, when has the left ever followed the rules?
“I never thought I would be facing charges as a sitting congresswoman. It’s a scary situation, too, because I’m thinking of my mom,” McIver said. Well, millions of Americans probably thought the same thing: We know. Democrats rarely get prosecuted, no matter how outrageous their behavior. They burn cities, attack cops, violate federal law, and nine times out of ten, they walk away with glowing CNN interviews and a book deal.
Look, I never thought I'd be facing charges as a sitting congresswoman, but l'm not going to stop doing my job.
Great to talk with @jrpsaki about what's next and how we fight this moving forward. pic.twitter.com/jMWxTXMOTH

But not this time. McIver faces three counts of forcibly impeding and interfering with federal officers, charges that could carry up to 17 years in prison. And now that the left has set the new standard—where protesting near a government building is treated like an act of terrorism—you’d think she might’ve seen this coming.
Honestly, McIver should give President Trump a call. She might learn what it’s like to be on the receiving end of politically motivated legal warfare. Trump never thought they’d try to bankrupt him and throw him behind bars for winning an election and daring to stand up to the D.C. swamp. But Democrats rewrote the rules of engagement, and now some of their own are feeling the heat.
Funny how that works, isn’t it? McIver even trotted out the family defense, saying, “I’m thinking about my daughter, who’s 9 years old. I’m thinking about my husband, my family.” Well, maybe she should’ve thought about them before roughing up federal officers on camera.
As Democrats love to say, “No one is above the law.” Guess that applies to them now too. Welcome to the new rules, Congresswoman.
She says she didn’t think she would be arrested for interfering with a federal officer. Who thinks that’s not a jail-able offense? She doesn’t possess an I.Q. high enough to qualify for the office she holds. And what does that say about the people that voted her into office. Not much.
