Dems Fight to Block Troops from Getting Paid During Shutdown

House Speaker Mike Johnson isn’t sugarcoating it, and frankly, he shouldn’t. During a press conference on Wednesday, Johnson sounded the alarm over what he called a “temporary bandaid” by the Trump Administration to keep U.S. troops and their families paid during yet another Democrat-led government shutdown. While the left is busy holding the government hostage over their wish list of big government goodies, President Trump is actually doing the work to keep military families afloat. But as Johnson warned, that relief won’t last forever.

Here’s what’s happening: thanks to President Trump’s executive leadership, the Pentagon has been authorized to shift some unused research and development funds to cover troop paychecks for now. So our soldiers, the ones who risk their lives while Democrats risk nothing, will still see a paycheck, at least temporarily. Johnson called this a “heroic effort” from the Trump Administration, and he’s right. But he also made it clear this is not a long-term fix.

“The executive branch, his help, is not permanent. It can’t be,” Johnson reminded reporters. If Democrats keep playing chicken with national defense to score political points, come the end of the month, our troops may very well miss a full paycheck. Let that sink in. Meanwhile, the party of “compassion” is too busy trying to extend Obamacare tax credits to stop and think about the families of the men and women they’re leaving in the lurch.

Now, let’s talk about the House. Republicans passed a continuing resolution back on September 19 that would keep the government open through November 21. That’s not a partisan stunt, that’s a move to keep negotiations going without grinding the entire system to a halt. But over in the Democrat-controlled Senate, Chuck Schumer has decided that unless he gets his laundry list of left-wing priorities, nothing’s getting through. Only three Democrats have had the backbone to break ranks and vote with Republicans to end the madness.

The result? Thousands of federal employees furloughed, law enforcement stretched thin, and military families left wondering how they’ll pay the bills. But don’t worry, the Democrats have their eyes on what really matters, keeping Obamacare subsidies alive until the next election cycle.

Speaker Johnson put it best: Republicans will find a way to protect the people who protect us. The question is whether Democrats will finally get out of the way.

  • Declare martial law. That should stop all those idiots. They are all rich so they don’t care if anyone else gets paid.

  • If the government is shut down and there’s no money for government employees how/why the hell do politicians still get paid!!!! They should be the first to stop getting paid!!! They caused the sit down so shut down their pay first!!!!!!
