Disgraced Republican Hints at Potential Presidential Bid in 2028

There are a few Republicans that we already know will probably run for president in the 2028 election, but I bet there’s one you may have forgotten about who may have just hinted that he may make another run. Mike Pence is apparently still testing the waters for another shot at the White House, even after his 2024 presidential campaign face-planted harder than a Biden bicycle ride. During a recent appearance at the Jefferson Educational Institute in Erie, Pennsylvania, the former vice president hinted that he might not be done yet. For a guy who never managed to crack two percent in the polls last time, that’s quite a bold statement.

At the event, which was focused on faith and politics, Pence spoke about “principles” over personality, which anyone with a pulse could tell was a not-so-subtle jab at President Trump. “We must resist the temptation to trade principle for power,” Pence said, trying to channel some old-school Jeffersonian vibes. Translation: he’s still trying to convince conservatives that being “nice” and “measured” is the path forward, even though Republican voters overwhelmingly chose Trump’s boldness over Pence’s piety the last time around.

When asked if he’d consider running again, Pence dodged in his usual folksy fashion: “Gee, look at the time, Steve. I don’t know what the future holds, but I know who holds the future.” That’s classic Pence—answering a political question with a Sunday school memory verse. It might sound poetic to him, but everyone in the room knew what he meant. He’s leaving the door open, hoping maybe the base forgets that he threw Trump under the bus over the 2020 election certification.

Let’s be honest, Pence’s first run was a textbook case of political misreading. He entered the 2024 race trying to position himself as the “principled conservative,” but voters weren’t looking for a sermon—they were looking for strength. While Trump dominated every poll, DeSantis and Haley carved out their own lanes, and Pence’s campaign never got off the runway. He barely raised $4.5 million in the second quarter while Trump raked in ten times that. His rallies looked more like polite Bible studies than campaign events.

And let’s not forget, Pence’s strained relationship with the MAGA base hasn’t healed one bit. His refusal to call for alternate electors during the 2020 election count made him a political pariah among Trump supporters. His debate moments, where he scolded the movement for questioning the results, didn’t help either. When your biggest applause line is “I will not bow to pressure,” maybe you should notice that no one’s asking you to lead the charge anymore.

Now he’s talking about restoring “core Republican values” like limited government, strong defense, and family values. All good principles—but those were Trump’s principles too, just delivered with more fight and less handwringing. Pence seems to think he can out-Christian the man who built the America First movement, but that’s not how the GOP works anymore.

If Pence really does run again in 2028, he’s staring at another uphill climb. Vice President JD Vance is already polling as the favorite, with names like Marco Rubio and Ron DeSantis in the mix. Pence? Still hovering under two percent. At this point, it feels less like a comeback and more like a man auditioning for a future Fox News contributor spot.

The truth is, Mike Pence is a decent man with strong faith, but his brand of politics belongs to a Republican Party that doesn’t exist anymore. The voters moved on, the movement evolved, and Pence is still standing there quoting scripture, hoping someone notices.

  • Pedophile Pence will not make it past the primaries. He stabbed Trump in the back and lost all of ot the vote from the republicans. His political career is history.

    • Agree. Pence is a poser, not a leader. He had the opportunity to review challenges to the 2020 Electors and totally caved.
