Joe Rogan and Michael Douglas during an interview

Joe Rogan Erupts at Democrats in Michael Douglas Interview: “What Are You Doing?

Joe Rogan brought a blunt message to his interview with veteran actor Michael Douglas, and the conversation quickly turned into a serious critique of the Democratic Party. Douglas, who aligns with the Democratic agenda, occasionally responded with an understated “yeah, yeah” as Rogan became more animated.

According to TheBlaze, Rogan argued that America’s two-party political system encourages people to ignore their own side’s failures. Tribal loyalty, he suggested, can make voters “ignore all the craziness that our side is doing because it’s our side.” That is a remarkably direct way to describe a political culture where party labels can apparently matter more than common sense.

Rogan said his concerns about the left became impossible for him to overlook, especially regarding illegal immigration. “I didn’t like any of that stuff,” he said. He then described the border situation in blunt terms: “First of all, the open border was insane.”

He continued, “It was insane to just not only leave the border open but give people instructions on how to get in, and also transport them to cities, and then put them up in hotels.” Rogan added, “It was really clear that a game was being played.”

Rogan speculated that Democrats may have seen the border crisis as a way to obtain cheap labor, bring in new voting blocs, or increase population figures ahead of the next census. He also suggested that such an increase could help secure additional congressional seats. Those were presented as possibilities by Rogan, but they added another layer to his criticism of the party’s immigration policies.

Mediaite reported that Rogan also criticized Democratic leadership, including “the fact that they haven’t had a primary since 2012.” His objection was straightforward. If party leaders decide they must win and simply present voters with a candidate, Rogan asked, “What the f*ck are you doing?”

He argued that a party should not be able to push aside its normal nomination process whenever party insiders decide the situation is inconvenient. “That’s not how it’s supposed to be done,” Rogan said. He also questioned Biden’s condition during his time in office, stating, “It’s really clear his mental ability was severely declined.”

Rogan added COVID vaccine mandates and regulations to his list of complaints, criticizing what he called Democratic “coercion.” For voters who value personal choice, secure borders, and accountable political leadership, that combination of issues remains a pretty large package to dismiss with a campaign slogan.

The exchange also sparked discussion on social media. One commenter wrote, “Rogan said out loud what a lot of regular people already knew about that border mess.” Another mocked Douglas for offering little more than a weak response while Rogan challenged the party’s record. Hollywood interviews are usually polished affairs, so Douglas sitting through that kind of criticism made the moment stand out.
