Oh, so now Politico wants a “shadow cabinet” to oppose President Trump? That’s rich. Apparently, someone missed the memo from the DNC chair back in April where he openly admitted — yep, they’re already doing exactly that. But hey, when the left gets desperate, the media just straps on the cheerleading uniform and starts tossing out strategy tips like unpaid interns at a failed MSNBC internship program.
This new scheme, floated by Politico and Michigan Senator Elissa Slotkin, is basically Britain-lite. Slotkin wants Democrats to mimic European opposition politics by forming a fake cabinet full of fake leaders with zero authority — you know, to counter the actual, elected President of the United States. Because when you can’t win the presidency, just pretend you still run things. That’s the Democrat motto in 2025.
The Politico piece even brainstorms who should fill this fantasy lineup. Ready for the clown show?
- Samantha Power as Shadow Secretary of State — because nothing screams “statesmanship” like the architect of the Libya disaster.
- Letitia James as Shadow Attorney General — great choice, if you want the DOJ to become the Democratic Party’s personal revenge squad.
- Jon Stewart for Veterans Affairs — no shade, but let’s maybe separate late-night comedy from military policy.
- Gisele Fetterman running Homeland Security — because that makes total sense if you’re casting a daytime talk show, not overseeing national threats.
- Bill Nye for the EPA — because when you need environmental policy, always go with the guy who used to explain magnets to six-year-olds.

Seriously, it’s a parody of a political strategy, but they’re actually floating this with a straight face. And the best part? They’re doing this after screaming for four years about “saving our norms.” Remember that? “Democracy dies in darkness,” they said — right before creating an unelected, unaccountable parallel government with the help of the media and a bunch of TikTok-ready talking heads.
What do you call an unconstitutional, media-coordinated attempt to override a sitting president? Well, if Trump did it, they’d be calling it a coup. But because it’s Team Blue, it’s “just a strategy.”
Let’s cut through the nonsense. The Democrats lost. Trump won. The media lost too, and they can’t stand it. That’s why Politico is out here acting like it’s a DNC planning meeting with a press badge. Maybe they should focus on journalism instead of shadow government cosplay.
Then again, maybe this is just who they are now — a party so out of touch with America they have to make up a fantasy cabinet just to sleep at night.
