Trump Grants ICE New Powers to Deal with Far-Left Rioters During Immigration Raids

President Trump is done watching ICE agents get ambushed by mobs while Democrats hand out gift cards to illegal aliens. On Friday, he announced sweeping new powers for federal immigration officers to defend themselves and restore order in areas overrun by leftist chaos—especially in California, where things have gone completely off the rails.

The announcement came just one day after yet another anti-ICE riot broke out, this time in Ventura, California. Agents were conducting a legal raid on a marijuana grow operation in Camarillo when they were swarmed by a far-left mob. The crowd didn’t just shout slogans—they hurled rocks, bricks, and even fired gunshots at ICE vehicles. One agent’s vehicle sustained serious damage.

President Trump, who had just wrapped up surveying flood damage in Texas, didn’t mince words. “THUGS were violently throwing rocks and bricks at ICE Officers…Tremendous damage was done to these brand new vehicles,” he posted on Truth Social. “I never want to see a car carrying a Law Enforcement Officer attacked again!”

His solution? Give ICE the green light to shut it down. Trump directed DHS Secretary Kristi Noem and border czar Tom Homan to grant full arrest authority to any agent under assault. “Total authorization” means exactly that—ICE can now stop their vehicles and arrest anyone attacking them, using “whatever means is necessary.” The president added, “AUTHORIZATION IMMEDIATELY GRANTED FOR ARREST AND INCARCERATION.”

This comes as California’s radical leadership continues to undermine federal law at every turn. Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass held a press conference Friday announcing that the city will be offering cash assistance to illegal immigrants targeted by ICE raids—up to “a couple hundred dollars” per person, handed out via “philanthropic partners.” If that sounds like a state-sponsored reward for breaking the law, that’s because it is.

Bass doubled down on her defiance, saying her office would also issue new directives instructing city workers how to “protect” themselves from federal enforcement officers—translation: how to obstruct justice without getting sued.

While Trump is busy restoring law and order, Democrat leaders are tripping over themselves to shelter criminals and punish the people trying to enforce federal law. But with these new powers, ICE no longer has to sit back and take it.

Trump’s message is loud and clear: We don’t negotiate with mobs. We arrest them.
