Oregon’s Democrat Attorney General Dan Rayfield just fired off a letter so outrageous it reads like a parody of left coast politics, except it’s very real and very dangerous. In a move that tells you everything about the priorities of Oregon’s ruling class, Rayfield warned the U.S. Department of Justice and the Department of Homeland Security that federal agents operating in Oregon could be arrested and prosecuted if the state decides they used “excessive force” while doing their jobs. Not abusing power, not acting outside the law, but simply carrying out the federal duties they’re charged with, including detaining illegal immigrants and protecting the Portland ICE facility.
The letter, dated November 24 and co signed by several progressive county prosecutors, formally places federal law enforcement under investigation by the Oregon DOJ. Rayfield threatened that any federal officer who uses force “beyond the reasonable scope of their duties” could face state criminal charges. Of course, he and his allies get to decide what “reasonable” means, which is exactly the point. Portland activists have spent years trying to chase federal agents out of their city, and now the state’s top prosecutor is offering them a legal roadmap to do it.
According to Rayfield, agents have acted “unlawfully” by deploying tear gas, pepper balls, nonlethal rounds and takedowns, conveniently ignoring the violent agitators, masked extremists and professional rioters who have been attacking the Portland ICE facility for years. Instead of confronting the criminals, Rayfield is targeting the men and women trying to hold the line.

The letter even cites moments where agents reportedly confronted teenagers at gunpoint or broke a car window to detain a 17 year old. What Rayfield chose not to mention is the part DHS clarified: U.S. Border Patrol agents in Yamhill County were being followed and obstructed by two cars. The drivers, both U.S. citizens, were arrested for impeding federal officers. In other words, the teenagers weren’t harmless bystanders, they were actively interfering in an ongoing enforcement operation.
But Rayfield didn’t stop there. He issued a set of demands to DHS, including a cease and desist order, mandatory “coordination” with local left wing law enforcement and full cooperation with state investigations. Translation, federal agents should seek permission from Portland politicians before enforcing federal law.
This is what happens when ideological grandstanding replaces public safety. Oregon leaders won’t stop illegal immigration, won’t stop riots, won’t stop attacks on federal buildings, but they will threaten the people trying to enforce the law. It’s backward, it’s reckless and it’s exactly why states like Oregon keep spiraling.

I’ll bet any money that this clown won’t be on the front line trying to arrest ICE officers! How I would LOVE to see him try it and end up in his own jail! FAFO pal, let’s see if you have the gonads!
This is a punk ,little boy .
