Far-left Rep. Summer Lee (D-PA) has just launched the latest installment of the Democrats’ grievance-industrial complex: the “Reparations Now Resolution.” Announced on Thursday, this radical push demands trillions in taxpayer-funded payouts to Black Americans — not based on anything they’ve personally endured, but on a distorted reading of American history wrapped in buzzwords like “racial justice” and “healing.”

Lee made the announcement during a political spectacle hosted by none other than Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ), who titled the event with all the subtlety of a protest sign: “Why We Can’t Wait: Advancing Reparative Justice in Our Lifetime.” That’s code for: “Open your wallets, America, and hand it over.”
The briefing brought together the usual far-left crowd — Reps. Ayanna Pressley, Hank Johnson, and Jasmine Crockett — each pushing their own pet projects designed to cement a permanent victim class and force American taxpayers into financial penance. Lee’s “Reparations Now Resolution” was just the latest and loudest.
According to the resolution, America has a “moral and legal obligation” to provide reparations. Lee declared that the country must be “rebuilt” in the image of those demanding payment, not in the image of the Founding Fathers or the Constitution, but based on identity politics and collectivist ideology.
Her justification? The usual list: slavery, Jim Crow, redlining, and “systemic racism” — phrases used like magic incantations to silence dissent. What the resolution conveniently forgets to mention is that no living American has ever owned a slave. The people footing this astronomical bill — veterans, working-class families, recent immigrants — had absolutely nothing to do with the injustices being cited.
This isn’t about fairness or justice. It’s about power and money. Lee and her Squad allies want to reshape the country by force — using reparations as a political battering ram. It’s a Marxist-style redistribution scheme dressed up in woke language.
Even worse, Lee admitted the goal isn’t just reparations — it’s total societal reconstruction. “We should be the ones who are shaping it,” she said, referring to the left’s agenda. And naturally, she took a jab at President Trump, whining that he “dismantled DEI programs with the stroke of a pen.” Maybe because those programs were divisive, discriminatory, and expensive failures?
The bottom line? This isn’t about righting historical wrongs — it’s about punishing today’s Americans for things they never did, to fund a political agenda that’s obsessed with division.

The people who deserved reparations received them after the conflict (40 acres and a mule). It can be argued as to weather that was adequate or not, but we must remember the economy of the times. Their descendants have not endured those hardships and do not deserve retribution for past wrongs of more than a century and a half ago.
