Well, here we are again. President Trump just pulled off another foreign policy masterstroke that the D.C. establishment swore was impossible. On Monday, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi awarded Trump the Nile Medal, Egypt’s highest state honor, for brokering the Gaza ceasefire that ended months of bloodshed and chaos. Not bad for a guy the media spent years calling unfit for diplomacy.
According to The Jerusalem Post, El-Sisi awarded Trump “in appreciation of his contributions to peace efforts and conflict resolution, most recently his role in halting the war in Gaza.” This wasn’t some participation trophy. The Collar of the Nile is made of solid gold and features pharaonic engravings symbolizing strength, endurance, and prosperity. It’s the highest honor Egypt can give, reserved for world leaders who actually do something. Safe to say, they’re not giving one to Joe Biden.

President Trump stood alongside El-Sisi during the announcement, calling the moment a “historic milestone that ends an agonizing chapter.” And he’s right. After months of failed attempts by the UN, the EU, and whatever’s left of the Biden diplomatic holdovers, it was Trump who got the ceasefire across the finish line. Hostages are returning home, missiles have stopped flying, and the region is seeing its first real moment of calm in years.
BBC, which isn’t exactly MAGA-friendly, noted that the first phase of the ceasefire is already in effect. Trump confirmed that phase two of negotiations is underway, this time aimed at a long-term political solution. During his address to the Israeli Knesset, he said the region is witnessing “the historic dawn of a new Middle East.” That might sound familiar. It’s the same phrase he used during his first term when he brokered the Abraham Accords. Back then, they laughed. Now they’re giving him gold.
Trump told Israeli lawmakers, “At last, not only for Israelis but also Palestinians, the long and painful nightmare is finally over.” The room responded with chants of “Trump, Trump, Trump,” because even they know who got the job done.
And he’s not stopping there. President Trump hinted that his next target is ending the Russia-Ukraine war, something the Biden administration never came close to doing. While Biden shuffled through teleprompters and forgot names, Trump is racking up wins and collecting medals.
