Jasmine Crockett’s Career Begins to Crumble After Recent Video

Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett, the Texas Democrat and proud member of the “Squad,” may have just torched any shot at higher office with a few reckless soundbites. Over the weekend, Crockett was caught on video enthusiastically endorsing the most extreme items on the progressive wish list: abolishing the Electoral College, packing the Supreme Court, and unilaterally granting statehood to Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico.

The moment came at an event where the host urged Democrats to embrace what he called a “progressive Trump,” someone willing to use raw executive power to ram through sweeping left-wing reforms. Crockett nodded along and chimed in with repeated affirmations. “Yeah!” she exclaimed when statehood was mentioned. When abolishing the Electoral College came up, she again agreed without hesitation. When a voice off-screen called for adding more justices to the Supreme Court, Crockett beamed: “Love that part. And guardrails! And guardrails.”

The clip went viral on X, sparking immediate backlash. For moderates and independents, the idea of tossing out centuries-old institutions in favor of radical quick fixes is not just unpalatable, it is politically suicidal. Democrats are still licking their wounds from Kamala Harris’s failed presidential bid, where her embrace of fringe positions made it easy for Trump’s campaign to brand her as completely detached from everyday Americans. Crockett’s words play directly into that same narrative.

What makes the timing even worse is that Crockett has been openly mulling whether to run for another congressional district following Texas’s newly passed electoral map. Early national polls have her creeping into the high single digits among Democrats for 2028, proof that she has carved out some appeal with progressive activists. But appealing to activists and appealing to voters in a general election are two very different things.

Crockett’s comments add to a growing reputation problem. She has already been criticized for personal attacks on Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s use of a wheelchair and for cheap shots at First Lady Melania Trump. Staffers have anonymously described her as a self-absorbed “monster,” more concerned with media attention than legislating. Complaints have even surfaced about her berating aides over trivial mistakes like a wrong lunch order while riding around in private SUVs.

If Democrats are serious about winning in 2028, Crockett’s brand of radical politics will be a major liability. Voters want solutions, not a progressive Trump with an executive pen tearing up the Constitution.

  • Predictably, once her district is eliminated and her term ends, Dems and the MSM will spend months featuring her as she rants about systemic racism, etc, etc.
She’s probably already working on a book deal. The idiots running NETFLIX will probably offer her a special deal, too.
