Watch MTG Blast Trump’s Tariffs While Defending Illegal Alien Construction Labor

It looks like Marjorie Taylor Greene has officially entered her “maverick era,” and not in the good way. Once one of President Trump’s loudest defenders, Greene is now taking public shots at the very policies that define Trump’s “America First” agenda. And she’s doing it in front of liberal media cameras and on podcasts with comedians while left-wing media and Democrats cheer her on like she just flipped sides in the middle of a war.

During a recent interview with comedian Tim Dillon, Greene went after Trump’s signature tariff policies, bizarrely suggesting they exist to benefit “crypto donors” and “AI donors.” According to Greene, American manufacturing companies are struggling under the tariffs, even though these same companies support the president’s long-term trade goals. Instead of defending the effort to bring jobs back to American soil and weaken the grip of Chinese supply chains, Greene threw out vague complaints about bank accounts, stress, and supply issues — offering zero actual policy solutions in return.

And then came the real punch. She accused President Trump of catering to “people that hated you,” while turning his back on rally-goers who “stood there for freaking 18 hours” in the rain and heat to support him. In Greene’s mind, those donors sipping cocktails at Trump’s Rose Garden are the real problem, not Biden’s wide-open border or the Marxist bureaucrats wrecking the economy from the inside.

But wait, it gets worse.

On immigration, Greene said the quiet part out loud, that she’s okay with illegal alien labor in industries like construction, where she just happens to have business interests. “I’m just living in reality from here on out,” she said, as if the rest of us are daydreaming about border walls and immigration enforcement. This is coming from someone worth over $24 million, apparently worried she might have to pay legal workers a competitive wage.

This comes just days after she blamed her own party for the partial government shutdown on CNN,  a move that had Democrats clapping like trained seals. The media response? Glowing. Slate ran a piece titled “Marjorie Taylor Greene, Welcome To The Resistance.” Hakeem Jeffries and Elizabeth Warren both praised her like she had just converted to Medicare for All.

Bottom line? MTG’s about-face isn’t bravery. It’s political opportunism dressed up as populist concern. President Trump’s base knows the difference.
