BREAKING: Tucker Carlson’s Son Leaves White House Position

Buckley Carlson, the son of commentator Tucker Carlson, is reportedly leaving his role in the White House as Vice President JD Vance’s deputy press secretary to launch his own political consulting firm. On paper, it sounds like a straightforward career move. In Washington, of course, nothing is ever allowed to remain straightforward for more than six minutes.

The resignation comes at a time when Tucker Carlson and President Trump are engaged in an increasingly public feud over the administration’s military actions involving Iran. That timing has naturally fueled speculation that Buckley Carlson’s departure may be tied to the growing conflict between one of the most influential conservative media figures in the country and the president he once strongly supported.

According to reports, however, Buckley informed the vice president’s office back in December that he intended to leave, well before the latest clash over Iran began dominating headlines. A Vance official reportedly said he stayed on for several additional months to ensure a smooth transition. That tends to undermine the dramatic theories, which is unfortunate news for people who survive entirely on palace intrigue.

Still, the surrounding politics are impossible to ignore.

Tucker Carlson has sharply criticized President Trump’s handling of the Iran conflict, arguing the military campaign was being driven too heavily by foreign interests and warning about risks to American personnel, regional allies, and energy markets. Reports indicated Tucker met with President Trump multiple times before Operation Epic Fury began, urging restraint and caution.

Clearly, those conversations did not change the final decision.

Since then, Tucker has denounced the operation in blunt terms, while President Trump has responded with equal subtlety, calling Carlson “low IQ,” a “LOSER,” and grouping him with what he described as “NUT JOBS” critics. As usual, Washington political discourse remains a shining monument to grace and diplomacy.

Buckley Carlson, meanwhile, worked inside the Vance operation rather than directly for President Trump, which matters. Vice President Vance has often been seen as someone capable of balancing populist instincts, disciplined messaging, and loyalty to the administration while maintaining his own political identity. Serving in that orbit gave Buckley valuable experience and likely strong connections heading into private consulting.

Starting a political consulting company is hardly unusual for a young operative with White House credentials. In fact, it is practically a rite of passage. Work in government, build relationships, learn the machinery, then cash in on expertise. Washington may disagree on ideology, but bipartisan consensus exists when there is money involved.

The bigger question is whether this signals any broader tension inside the movement. Maybe. Or maybe it is simply an ambitious staffer making the next logical move.

Either way, Buckley Carlson exits with a resume many aspiring operatives would envy, White House experience, ties to Vice President Vance, and one of the most recognizable last names in conservative politics.

Not bad for a guy just starting the next chapter.
