Chilling Mystery Deepens as UFO Tied Air Force General Vanishes Following Secret Meeting

The mysterious disappearance of retired Air Force Major General William Neil McCasland has generated growing concern in New Mexico, while also fueling intense public speculation due to the decorated officer’s long association with military research programs, advanced aerospace projects and decades of UFO-related rumors.

McCasland, 68, has not been seen since February 27, when authorities say he vanished from the area near Quail Run Court NE in Albuquerque. The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office has issued a Silver Alert as investigators continue searching for clues in the baffling case.

New details emerged after body-camera footage obtained by the Law&Crime Network revealed that McCasland spent the evening before his disappearance meeting with members of the U.S. Space Force and associates connected to Kirtland Air Force Base.

According to an unidentified woman interviewed by deputies, the group met for dinner around 6 p.m. on February 26. The woman told investigators she worked with McCasland through the Kirtland Partnership, a nonprofit organization focused on supporting the mission and growth of Kirtland Air Force Base.

During the interview, she described McCasland as unusually withdrawn and quiet during the gathering.

“I was shocked this morning when I saw the alert because what I noticed Thursday evening is that he wasn’t his usual self,” she told deputies. “He was kind of spacey and quiet.”

The witness also claimed McCasland maintained connections within highly sensitive government circles and pointed to his previous leadership positions within the Air Force Research Laboratory, where he oversaw some of the military’s most advanced scientific programs.

Those comments have drawn additional attention because McCasland’s name has surfaced repeatedly in discussions involving UFO disclosure claims. Tennessee Congressman Tim Burchett and whistleblower David Grusch have both publicly referenced McCasland in conversations surrounding allegations that the U.S. government has recovered and studied unidentified craft. No evidence has been presented publicly linking McCasland to any confirmed extraterrestrial programs.

While online speculation has focused heavily on those associations, investigators appear to be concentrating on more immediate concerns surrounding McCasland’s health.

According to body-camera footage, his wife, Susan Wilkerson, told deputies that McCasland had recently begun taking a newly prescribed medication intended to improve his sleep. She said he awoke on the day of his disappearance feeling foggy and unmotivated.

Wilkerson also revealed that her husband had experienced significant weight loss, increasing anxiety and concerns about possible cognitive decline. According to her account, he had expressed fears that his brain was deteriorating.

Perhaps most troubling, she told investigators that McCasland left home without his phone, identification or electronic devices. Authorities believe he took only a pair of boots and a .38-caliber revolver before leaving.

Neighbors expressed disbelief over the disappearance. One former subordinate described McCasland as disciplined, intelligent and highly dependable, saying it would be completely out of character for him to simply vanish without explanation.

For now, investigators continue searching for answers. While internet theories continue to swirl around McCasland’s military background and connections to long-standing UFO narratives, authorities have not publicly linked his disappearance to any government program, classified operation or other missing-person cases.

The search for the retired general remains active as family members and law enforcement hope new information will finally reveal what happened after he walked away from home and seemingly disappeared without a trace.
